July Memories
We are adjusting to two kids by adopting a man to man defensive strategy. We each get a kid to keep track of, especially for the morning and bedtime routine. Michaela is very loving with Jackson, always kissing him and asking to hold him. However, she has been very emotional with us lately, throwing a tantrum and breaking down in tears when she doesn't get her way. I know she is adjusting to the new family situation, so we have tried to be extra-loving and engaging with her. By the end of the month, she was doing better. I'm sure part of this is also the beginnign of the "terrible twos".
At one month old Jackson measured 10 lbs 12 ounces (78%) and 21.5 inches (50%). By the end of the month, he woke about every 3-4 hours at nigth to eat. Like most babies, he is fussy in the evening and wants to constantly be held until bedtime.

Michaela's Birthday
Thanks to everyone who helped throw together Michaela's party 5 days after Jackson was born. We had a fun waterslide/pool and a yummy cookout. Michaela got lots of great books, clothes, and toys. She was especially excited about her roller skates, which she hasn't quite mastered yet. Jackson slept through the whole thing!
